I have an art studio in which I do illustrations and design stationery, which I later letterpress. Though I try to draw mostly in a digital format, I do love watercolors and calligraphy.

I have been collecting letterpress blocks since 2005 but did not get first letterpress machine until 2009.

My attention span is very short. So in order to stay on task I choose very rewarding, highly creative projects. I start by picking a theme (vintage seems to be a prevalent theme).  Then I narrow it down to a period and I research it until I feel I have my spark of inspiration. My ideas are pretty straight forward so when they are rendered, they somehow feel perfect to me and ready for the press.

Doing something because it's trendy or for the money is never as rewarding as doing it for the love of it. If you love it, others will too. When a client loves your items, they are loyal to you no matter how many people are doing the same thing too.

I find my family to be very inspiring as they are a point of respite for my creativity to recharge itself. Creating non-stop doesn't help my business. Sometimes while playing a game with my kids, an idea will pop up. Those are usually my winning ideas!

Some upcoming projects are that I am designing and thinking about teaching. I have done this before and I love it.
